Website Developer
Tulsa Police (2023-Present)

In March 2023, I began working as a Website Developer at the City of Tulsa for the Tulsa Police Department. Though the title sounds very niche, I was trusted to wear a variety of different hats in the department's Communications Unit.

First, my primary function in the unit daily is to serve as a liaison for local media when they are seeking public information related to police activity. To best serve our media partners, I worked to create an online environment to streamline media requests for information and cut down on media calls to 911 Dispatch or other department personnel.

I am also responsible for assisting the unit in writing social media content, creating graphics for both internal and external communication, writing press releases and newsletters, and filling Open Records Act requests for body-worn camera video.

During my first few months in the unit, I rebuilt the department's external website. This included sweeping organizational changes, the building of new web pages and features, and significant graphic design upgrades. In addition, I redesigned the department's external recruiting website to have improved user functionality and match organizational branding.

I also assumed control of the department's internal website, utilizing SharePoint, Power Automate, and additional Microsoft 365 tools to streamline internal communications and file sharing functions.
